I grew up on the East Coast, one of six Korean American adoptees. (I am the middle girl, like Jan in the Brady Bunch)
My kids, family and friends keep me busy when I am not working. The people in my life are my greatest gift and inspiration.
"I never did a day's work in my life. It was all fun." – Thomas Edison
All about me:
My name is Ann Gladstone. I am an experienced design talent with over 15 years of interactive design experience.
As a curious designer, I am consistently learning, practicing, and experimenting which has given me a deep understanding of the web and interaction design. From creating online brand experiences to designing rich application UX and UI, I have rolled up my sleeves and successfully dove into every work experience with enthusiastic joy. It seems that whatever project I work on or position I fill, I end up being the natural lead because I am vigilant in understanding all aspects of a project; Essentially I ask the right questions and answer the difficult ones.
Why I love what I do.
The beauty of my work is that I can't do it by myself. Along with my love of always learning, collaboration makes my profession a pleasure. I look for organizations that foster collaboration across teams or departments. My happy place is being part of an agile technology team, working through complex design challenges.
My soft skills that you'll learn from working with me.
- I am thoughtful:
In order to be a good user experience designer, I find we need to have an innate empathy as well as being an skillful artist. Understanding the variety of perspectives and motivations provides healthy insights into an experience. - I am a doer:
I lead by example and gain the respect of my team members, colleagues, and superiors by being proactive in research, ideation and execution. People will say "do your magic". Unbeknownst to them that magic is a result of hard work and research. - I love a challenge:
Deep diving into problem solving is my passion and shepherding a project from ideation to completion is my strength.
I could go on and on about what I know and what I have done but I would rather have a conversation. I am always curious who actually reads lengthy bios, so my challenge to you, if we chat in real life, ask me about Sofia in Battle Arena Toshinden. I'll tell you an anecdote of her meaning to me but more importantly for me it will me give a better understanding of you. ie akin to the Van Halen brown M&M requirement.
